CHI St. Luke’s Health now has a location in Legends Sports Complex! Three licensed athletic trainers are available on site during peak hours , as well as during our Youth Leagues and Sport Academies.
Jason Cazares, Mallory Garner, and Matthew Vasquez are here to provide a variety of services including injury consultation, injury prevention, injury treatment, injury management, and post workout &/or game recovery.
Mallory Garner MS, ATC, LAT
Mallory Garner is a licensed/certified athletic trainer and certified nutrition coach. She has worked as an athletic trainer since 2009 in multiple settings, including high schools, gym and clinical setting. She has worked as a nutrition coach since 2013. Her primary focus is on weight management, cardiac nutrition, healthy lifestyles, athletic injuries and athletic nutrition. She graduated from the University of Texas in Austin with a Bachelor’s of Science in Athletic Training and went on to get her Master’s in Injury Prevention and Sports Enhancement at California University of Pennsylvania. Her professional focus is “the body is not designed to be in pain” and works to change the pain her clients experience either through nutritional or physical adjustments. Mallory has just begun her Doctorate in Health Promotion and Wellness.
Jason Cazares, LAT
Jason Cazares is an athletic trainer at CHI St. Luke’s Health in the Woodlands. He has been an Athletic Trainer since 2013. Starting in 2010, He attended Texas State University in San Marcos as an undergraduate working with various sports and high schools. During his early career he worked with local sport organizations including youth soccer, football, basketball and baseball. As a health professional, his main focus is prevention, education, and treatment of injuries in the active population. Making fitness fun and a part of everyday life is a priority. Jason enjoys being around athletes and helping them achieve their goals. He also has one Australian cattle dog named Reyna and is a native born Texan.
Matthew A. Vasquez, LAT
Matthew Vasquez has been working as an Athletic Trainer since 2009. He began his career as a student at Houston Baptist University with a unique chance to work hands on with many NCAA DI sports, athletes and other related professionals. After earning his BS and sitting for his license, Matthew continued to grow professionally having had the opportunity to work in many different settings with athletes of all levels, including professional and Olympian levels. He loves helping athletes succeed and is a strong believer that a functional and balanced body is a high performing body.
