Athletic Performance Training

Success in athletics is dependent on many factors. Speed, strength, agility, quickness, and power, are common in the majority of sports. Coaches don’t sit athletes on the bench because they are “too strong”, “too quick”, or “too fast”. Improvements in these qualities will ALWAYS lead to greater success.

The Legends Athletic Development program will enable athletes at EVERY level to achieve greater success in their chosen sport or activity. Our coaches have produced results at every level of sport, including NFL, NBA, MLB and professional fighters. However, the greatest impact coaches can have, is on the developing athlete. Starting in youth, and continuing to focus on increased athleticism, will produce the results that will enable athletes to reach their full athletic potential. Training hard, and training consistently will have a tremendous impact on success. However, training SMART is of even greater importance. Developing athletic ability is a long term commitment.

Legends will design a program for the individual athlete, and implement it in a small group setting. This allows the athlete to realize the success of having a personal strength and conditioning coach, with the cost effectiveness of small group training. This is NOT the cookie-cutter, one-size-fits-all mentality of other performance centers. We focus on individual success, based on individual goals.

Athletes will go through regular assessments, to gauge progress, and allow the coaches to manipulate program variables to keep improvements coming. Athletes progress at different speeds, and in different areas, but improvement should be a constant throughout their athletic career.

Summer Athletic Performance Programs

We offer a special Athletic Performance Program during the summer! Below are the pricings based on camp

Elite Performance (Starting June 5th):
M-F from 6:30am-8am for 10 weeks- $360 (for HS/College athletes)

Speed and Agility:

Tue & Th from 8am-9am for 10 weeks- $160 (for Ages 10 – 16)

Team Training:

From 9am – 10am (Price TBD based on number of participants)

INDIVIDUAL

Our Sports Performance Training is split into 3 levels. Which level each individual athlete will participate in is determined by an initial assessment of age, capability, and other various metrics that will take place upon their first day. All packages include progress reports so you can track your athletic progress in real time.

Level 1 (L1)

  • Dynamic movement patterns scientifically designed to:
    • Warm up the body prior to activity
    • Increase total body awareness/control
  • Multi-directional drills & activities designed to teach the body to:
    • Accelerate, decelerate, and quickly/explosively change direction in a controlled manner
  • Acceleration drills designed to:
    • Improve running mechanics and starting techniques
  • Cardiovascular conditioning drills & activities designed to:
    • Develop a cardiovascular fitness base with anaerobic and aerobic conditioning
  • Muscular strength and endurance development designed to:
    • Improve strength through basic lifting mechanics and bodyweight exercises
    • Introduce the basic lifts that will guide their future athletic pursuits
  • Core stabilization designed to:
    • Strengthen the core and correct postural deviations

This program will increase strength, speed, and agility, and will prepare participants to achieve greater athletic success.

YOUTH FOCUS: • Injury prevention/body awareness • Body weight movement and control • Athletic skill development • Competitive games and activities

Level 2 (L2)

  • Dynamic movement patterns scientifically designed to:
    • Warm up the body prior to activity
    • Increase total body awareness/control
  • Plyometric movement skills designed to:
    • Introduce the body to the explosive nature of eccentric/concentric coupling
    • Teach the body how to safely respond with explosive forces
  • Multi-directional drills & activities designed to teach the body to:
    • Accelerate, decelerate, and quickly/explosively change direction in a controlled manner
  • Acceleration drills designed to:
    • Improve running mechanics and starting techniques
  • Cardiovascular conditioning drills & activities designed to:
    • Develop a cardiovascular fitness base with anaerobic and aerobic conditioning
  • Muscular strength and endurance development designed to:
    • Improve strength through basic lifting protocols, with a focus on proper mechanics
    • Provide an introduction to more advanced resistance training
  • Core stabilization designed to:
    • Strengthen the core and correct postural deviations

This program will rapidly increase strength, and make participants more explosive. Increases in speed, strength, agility and explosiveness will be noticeable.

MIDDLE SCHOOL FOCUS: • Injury prevention/body awareness • Introduction to plyometrics • Introduction to resistance training • Sport specific cardiovascular conditioning

    • Warm up the body prior to activity and prepare the body for force development
    • Increase total body awareness/control
  • Plyometric movement skills designed to:
    • Challenge and develop the body’s explosive capabilities my harnessing the power of eccentric/concentric coupling
    • Teach the body how to safely respond to, and generate explosive forces
  • Multi-directional drills & activities designed to teach the body to:
    • Accelerate, decelerate, and quickly change direction in an explosive and controlled manner
  • Acceleration drills designed to:
    • Improve running mechanics and starting techniques
  • Cardiovascular conditioning designed to:
    • Develop a cardiovascular fitness base with anaerobic and aerobic conditioning
  • Muscular strength and endurance development designed to:
    • Improve strength through advanced lifting movements, focusing on proper mechanics
    • Progressively challenge muscular strength with Olympic lifting movements and techniques
  • Core Stabilization designed to:
    • Strengthen the core and correct postural deviations

This program will rapidly increase strength, and make participants more explosive, enabling them to compete at the highest levels possible in sport. Increases in speed, strength, agility and explosiveness will be noticeable.

HIGH SCHOOL/COLLEGE FOCUS: • Injury prevention/body awareness • Development of plyometric skills • Development of advanced resistance training  • Explosive olympic lifting movements • Sports specific conditioning

Sports Performance training will be held Monday – Friday. Time slots vary based on Level of Training.

Ty Nordic
Director of Sports Performance

Ty successfully ran Nordic Athletic Performance in Colorado for 10 years, and was the Director of Athletic Performance for Bellin Sports Medicine in Green Bay, Wisconsin for 2 years. Ty helped several athletes prepare for NFL tryouts, and worked with several Green Bay Packers during his tenure there.

Ty wrote the Accelerated Rehabilitation Protocols for Dr. Patrick McKenzie (Team Physician for the Packers). He was the Head Strength Coach for the Green Bay Blizzard (AFL2), and oversaw the Strength and Conditioning programs for UWGB, and 23 area High Schools.

The past 6 years he was the Head Strength Coach for Bartlesville High School in Oklahoma, and also trained the volleyball team at Oklahoma Wesleyan University. During that time, he also worked with Markell Carter (New England Patriots), and Jarrett “The Legacy“ Rouse (professional fighter).

Ty has worked with NFL, WNBA, Division 1, 2 and NAIA athletes, as well as collaborating with dozens of NFL and Division 1 Strength Coaches. He is a published author, and has presented at conferences and symposiums around the country.
